Hi Ya!!!! All, We had 2 bikes down on our first Poker Run for Special Olympics September 12, 2009. 2 members Ron & Pam Craig from Chapter 08 Waynesboro, Va were high sided hitting the payment hard are still in the UVA hospital in Charlottesville, Va. Both are stable, sore with some broken bones but doing well. Please keep them both in your thoughts and Prayers. I' planning on riding up tomorrow 9/15 to see them and I will follow up with an update!!!!
The other bike was our own Tom Thompson with one of the on the Grandson of Mrs. Ward from Special Olympics as a passenger. Tom ran into the ditch in order not to hit the Craigs and dropped his bike in the grass, neither of them were hurt but the bike had some damage.

we also had a member fall at the Special Olympics Dance Sarurday night. Aurelia Boyce fell hitting her head and breaking both bones in her right arm just above her wrist. Xrays we negitive on the head but the arm will be operated on to set the bones this Friday. I just left her and she is doing fine, lot of pain, head still hurts, but the meds help. Tony, her husband, is at home with her. Please add both to your prayer list. No alcohol involved!!! |
